I completed my B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences in Iran. During my undergraduate study, I took an internship course and worked in a large complex of fish farms in the south of Iran. This gave me a new perspective, allowing me to see how theoretical knowledge could be applied and worked in practice.

After completing my Master’s degree, I started working in the R&D department of an international company in Iran that supplies veterinary and aquaculture pharmaceuticals, feed, and feed additive products. There I had the opportunity to meet many industry professionals, and to attend national and international exhibitions and conferences around the world, allowing me to interact with leading animal feed and feed additive producers, and gain valuable insights into the industry.

I am currently a Ph.D. student in Animal Biosciences, under the supervision of Professor Dominique Bureau in the Fish Nutrition Research Laboratory (FNRL). My project focuses on determining protein digestibility in different protein ingredients for rainbow trout. The issue of protein digestibility and amino acid bio-availability has rarely been investigated using a highly systematic biochemical approach. The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of heat damage on the digestibility of protein and bio-availability of amino acids. According to recent findings, the cross-linkage of dietary proteins caused by cross-linked amino acids and disulfide bonds may greatly impact the digestibility of protein and the bio-availability of amino acids. In this project, we are also determining approaches to improve the digestibility of protein and the bio-availability of amino acids of such heat-damaged proteins. To do this work, I use a combination of methodological approaches, including chemical assays, the use of advanced analytical equipment as well as animal assays.

Besides this, I enjoy traveling, visiting historical places and exploring the diversity of cultures. I believe travel and change of place, impart new vigor to the mind!
