Canadian sheep producers established the Canadian Sheep Improvement Corporation, located in Ottawa. After three years this organization produced software for an on-farm recording and evaluation program, but was unable to continue national genetic evaluations. Producers in Ontario continued throughout this time to obtain provincial genetic evaluations through CGIL and have now been joined by Quebec in obtaining regional evaluations through CGIL.
