I am sad about the general lack of respect that people show towards other people. The Boston bombers, for example, had no respect for human life. The Tim Bosma murderers had no respect for his life, or that of his wife and kids. The two men who hacked a soldier to death in London, in broad daylight. The kid who murdered the children in that school in Connecticutt. What is going on in the world? Why has it become so more prominent these days? How can it be stopped?
People are no longer safe, anywhere. Having a gun would not prevent anything from happening to me. There is always someone who is angry about something and willing to hurt others to get the attention that they think they need for their cause. Besides worrying about health problems and weather disasters, now we have to worry about lunatics that may want to kill you. How do you tell who might want to kill you and how do you prevent them from doing it?
In a hockey game, for instance, if a player deliberately or through careless actions causes another player to be injured, then that player should miss the exact same number of games as the injured player, and should pay the injured player the amount of money that he would have made if he had played. There would be a lot fewer concussions with such a system.
In real-life, the intervention of God is needed. If a person wishes to kill or hurt other people, then if he tries to shoot someone, the bullet reverses and kills the shooter, not the victims. If a person wants to blow up people, the bomb should go off only inside their bodies. Once everyone figures out that retribution is immediate and that their victims are not harmed, then there would be a sharp decline in murder attempts. That would also go towards preventing a lot of wars too. But alas, real-life doesn't work that way.
