Using the current EPA rankings of college teams, the ideal bracketing for the NCAA tournament is given in the table below. No consideration has been given to number of teams from each conference or pairing of teams from the same conference nor representation from all conferences. I advocate more inter-conference games during the season. Teams only need to play each team in their conference once, then all other games would be to teams in other conferences, and they should play just one team from each conference. This would give more comparisons between conferences and would allow the EPA rankings to be more accurate.
