Dr. Victor Pedrosa has a bachelor degree in Animal Science from the University of Sao Paulo (2004), a Master's Degree in Animal Science from the University of Sao Paulo (2006), a PhD in Animal Science from the University of Sao Paulo and the Institut für Nutztiergenetik, Germany. He is currently a professor at the Ponta Grossa State University (UEPG) and also at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA), both in Brazil. Dr. Pedrosa is the coordinator of LeMA - Laboratory of studies on Animal Breeding, which has been developing research in quantitative genetics and most recently, on genomics. He is the responsible for the breeding evaluation of the Holstein Association, PR, Brazil and also of the Santa Ines sheep breed in Brazil. Furthermore, he holds the position of coordinator of the Animal Science course and vice-coordinator of the Postgraduate course in Animal Science, both in the Ponta Grossa State University. Dr. Victor Pedrosa is a visiting professor at the University of Guelph developing studies on linkage disequilibrium, genotype quality control and also GWAS and GS for dairy cattle.
